About
In service with the Romanian Army to this day, the TR-85M1, or “Bizonul,” was developed through a modernization program launched in 1994 to bring the existing TR-85 tank up to NATO standards. Improvements include a larger turret, greater armor protection with additional frontal turret armor, and an updated hydropneumatic suspension system and fire control system (FCS). However, the TR-85M1 has retained its predecessor’s 100mm rifled gun.
