About
Over its long life, the T-55 Soviet main battle tank underwent numerous modifications. One variant that was produced was the TO-55, also known as the OT-55 and Object 482. Developed in 1956 and produced until 1962, the TO-55 mounted an ATO 200 flamethrower next to its 100mm main gun in lieu of the T-55’s 7.62mm coaxial machine gun. The Soviet military did not deploy the TO-55 in any battles.
