About
After World War II, the U.S. began work on a successor to the M24 Chaffee light tank. Three prototypes were built around the initial T37 conceptual design; the second prototype was selected for development and renamed the T41. Once the T41 received a new turret and turret ring, it was christened the T41E1 in its final pre-production form. Eventually the tank was produced and deployed in the field as the M41 Walker Bulldog, named after General Walton Walker.
