About
The structure of the Sturmpanzer V draws on the chassis of the PzKpfw. V Ausf. G as its foundation. According to some reports, in 1944, the Krupp manufacturing firm proposed fitting an assault mortar to the rotating turret of a Panther tank. However, no prototypes or units for such a vehicle were ever built.
