Prototipo 6
Tier 8 · italy · medium
About
Toward the end of the 1950s, the Italian military became interested in projects of German designers. Ideas began to emerge for a 30-ton tank similar to the German Standardpanzer. A six-roller chassis was chosen for the Prototipo 6. The vehicle resembled the Group A Standardpanzer, but with its own specifics. The designers also initially banked on a welded turret, and the armament was developed based on guns of American tanks. However, a prototype was never built. To save money, the Italians decided to wait until the Standardpanzer program was completed and buy the finished product.
