About
Produced briefly from February 1943 until 1944, the Grille was a self-propelled artillery vehicle that paired the Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) chassis with the standard 15cm howitzer of the German army. Although initial plans called for the Grille to be built with the Ausf.M version of the chassis, which was being developed for use with the 15cm gun, the first 90 units were constructed with the Ausf.H chassis available at the time.
