About
In 1944, Stanisław Lem sent the USSR military his sketches outlining a number of innovations in tank design. Among other things, he proposed a new design for the hull and armor, and a dual-track system instead of the single-track running gear. Czołg P wz.46 is Stanisław Lem's revised design for a lighter tank with improved additional armament. The dual-track system had many advantages, but was more complex to implement. The tracks could operate in different modes: separately in either traction or free mode, as well as together. Their mirror symmetry allowed for quick reversal of the movement direction. However, the project existed only in blueprints.
