About
Despite the early successes of the well-fortified KV-1 heavy tank, the Soviet army pursued updates that would prepare the tank to counteract newly developed enemy weapons. More than 20 designs were proposed for the KV-4; most incorporated a 107mm main gun and a 45mm secondary gun. Ultimately, however, no prototypes of any of the designs were built.
