Between the late 1960s and early 1970s, Israel captured a small number of Soviet T-62 vehicles that had been in service in the Middle East and redeployed them under the name “Tiran 6.” The Tiran 6 displayed a few modifications such as external gear storage but kept the 115mm gun of the T-62.
