The Magach 7 series of main battle tanks was based on the original M60’s design. Unlike the Magach 6 series, which was based specifically on older M60A1 and M60A3 models and fitted with Blazer explosive reactive armor (ERA), the Magach 7 line used thick added layers of passive armor for better protection. The 7C variant (also known as the Magach 7 Gimel) featured an angled mantlet and wedge-shaped armor, giving it a more angular look than the earlier 7A version.
