Just as Israel renamed the M48 vehicles it acquired as the Magach 1-5 series, it also renamed the M60s it acquired, first as the Magach 6 series. The Magach 6B variant was an M60A1 fitted with modifications from the U.S.’s Reliability Improved Selected Equipment (RISE) program, including an AVDS-1790-2C engine. The Magach 6B Gal variant boasted a further upgrade in the form of an indigenous Gal fire control system (FCS).
