Early in the 1980s, Teledyne Continental Motors developed a series of upgrades to the M60 main battle tank that it intended to offer on the export market. This upgrade package was known by several names, including the Super M60, the High Performance M60, and the M60AX. The most notable update was the use of spaced applique armor around the turret, which gave the M60’s previously rounded turret a newly angular shape. Ultimately, no orders were placed for the Super M60, which might have been due to the presence of modern MBTs like the M1 Abrams. Only one prototype was constructed. Manufactured by USA
