Erprobungsträger mit 3-achs Stabilisiertem Turm

The Leopard 1 not only became a new standard for European main battle tanks after its introduction in 1966; it also served as the foundation for the development of other armored vehicles. One such vehicle mounted an experimental turret with three-axis stabilization to a modified Leopard 1 chassis. The prototype, known as the Erprobungsträger mit 3-achs-stabilisiertem Turm, was not selected for further development due to the projected costs of production.
