About

Initially developed by Porsche, the Wiesel was a lightweight armored weapons carrier made to support the German military’s ground operations. It was capable of being transported and air-dropped by military aircraft. Of the 345 Wiesel 1 units delivered to the German Army starting in 1989, 210 were equipped with a TOW anti-tank guided missile launcher. The other 135 received a 20mm gun.
