During the late 1970s and early 1980s, two new versions of the T-55A came into production: the Soviet T-55AM and the Czech T-55AM2. Both were fitted with improvements like gun stabilization upgrades and armor upgrades (including an early version of composite armor). The T-55AM2B, however, used the Czech equivalent of the Volna fire control system (FCS), and used the 9K116 Bastion missile system..
