Object 268 ‘56
Tier 0 · ussr · AT-SPG · Post War
About
Josef Kotin, the prominent engineer behind the IS tank series, was also responsible for the development of Object 268 after World War II. This vehicle married a 152mm M-64 gun to components from the T-10. Although the prototype revealed in 1956 performed well, the appearance of the U.S. M60 and British Chieftain vehicles led the Soviet Union to abandon Object 268 in pursuit of more sophisticated and efficient designs.
