M8 AGS
Tier 0 · usa · light · Détente
About
Developed through the Armored Gun System (AGS) program of the 1980s that also produced the Expeditionary Tank, the M8 AGS was manufactured by FMC (later known as United Defense). Initially known as the Close Combat Vehicle - Light (CCVL), it was ultimately chosen to replace the M551 Sheridan. It featured a 105mm XM35 gun and allowed for the use of modular armor suites to keep it lightweight and air-mobile. Shifts in funding and priorities, however, led to its cancellation.
