About
A variant of the Type 80 main battle tank, the Type 80-II incorporated several improvements in its design. Chief among them was the computerized fire control system (FCS) coupled with an external laser rangefinder. Plans for the Type 80-II also included full nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) protective lining and a semi-automatic transmission system to replace the manual gearbox. However, the Type 80-II never entered production.
