About
Manufacturer Krauss-Maffei submitted its prototype for the 2A5 variant of the Leopard 2 main battle tank in 1990. The Leopard 2A5 was fitted with several significant enhancements, including improved spaced frontal turret armor that created a wedge or arrowhead shape. Other modifications included additional armor for the side skirts and hull and improved stabilization. Germany received its first Leopard 2A5 units in 1995. Manufactured by Germany
