The T-64A further improved upon the basic design of the original T-64 with the incorporation of a 125 mm smoothbore cannon, a move which necessitated the reduction of the crew to 3, incorporating a mechanical autoloader system instead. The tank also features basic Nuclear Biological Chemical (NBC) protection.
