About
Built by Vickers in close cooperation with the American company FMC, the VFM 5 was a light tank created primarily for export in the mid-1980s. The welded aluminum hull provided by FMC would have allowed the tank to be transported by larger military cargo planes, while its low recoil force (LRF) 105mm gun would have provided it with ample firepower. However, no orders were placed.
