About
Early in the 1980s, Romania received a license to domestically produce the amphibious BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle. Though largely identical to the original vehicle, the Romanian version was named the MLI-84. The MLI-84M variant was the result of an agreement between Romania and the Israeli firm RAFAEL. This variant features RAFAEL’s OWS-25R turret and can mount launchers capable of firing SPIKE anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs).
