Magach 6R Hydra

Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Israel acquired a number of M48 and M60 tanks to bolster its aging fleet of reconfigured Sherman vehicles. The M60s it retooled were given the name Magach 6. The Magach 6R variant was significant for being fitted with an AVDS-1790-2AG engine, which boasted a more powerful electric generator than the AVDS-1790-2A engine also used for modernization projects. The Hydra version of the 6R was an experimental design equipped with rockets.
